Child Safety and Wellbeing Commitment

At 2 Bent Rods, the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of children and young people are our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and respectful environment where every child feels valued, heard and protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm.

We have zero tolerance for any form of child abuse, grooming, neglect, bullying, discrimination or behaviour that places a child or young person at risk.

We are committed to:

  • Promoting the safety, wellbeing and best interests of every child and young person who participates in our programs.
  • Listening to children and young people and encouraging them to express their views, concerns and ideas.
  • Treating all children with dignity, fairness and respect, regardless of their background, ability, gender, culture, religion or identity.
  • Creating environments where children feel safe to speak up and know they will be listened to.
  • Ensuring all staff, volunteers and contractors understand their responsibilities to safeguard children and act in accordance with our Child Safe policies and procedures.
  • Responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns, disclosures or allegations relating to child safety.
  • Meeting all relevant child safety legislation, reporting obligations and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

Everyone involved with 2 Bent Rods shares responsibility for protecting children and young people.

This commitment applies to all employees, contractors, volunteers, instructors and anyone representing 2 Bent Rods.

This Child Safety and Wellbeing Commitment is publicly available through our website and is communicated to our team as part of induction and ongoing training.
